Valerie K. Thornton is a Kansas City–area author, pastor, teacher and inspirational speaker whose ministry centers on worship, prayer, spiritual restoration and Christian service. She has served as pastor of Rosser-Simpson CME Church in Kansas City, Missouri, and is the founder of At His Feet Ministries. Her work encourages believers to deepen their relationship with God and actively share their faith within their homes, workplaces and communities.
Pastor Thornton is the author of Church Advance Forward, Boots on the Ground: A Clarion Call to the Church, published in 2020. The book challenges Christians to move beyond the walls of the church and become active representatives of God’s love in every area of society. Her more recent works include Wounded Nation: Call to Restoration—Black Diaspora and Wounded Nation Devotional: Healing the Soul Through Scripture, History, and Forgiveness. Through her writing and ministry, she connects biblical teaching with themes of healing, forgiveness, cultural restoration and purposeful living.
