Anthony High – Kansas City Local Artist
Anthony High is a celebrated Kansas City native, internationally recognized artist, and dedicated arts educator whose work brings history and culture to life through visual expression. With a Bachelor of Arts in Art Education from Lincoln University and a Master’s in Studio Art from the University of Missouri–Kansas City, High has spent decades shaping both his own artistic vision and the creative journeys of students across the region. Much of his inspiration draws from African American heritage, jazz, Negro Leagues history, and the broader Black diaspora, themes he explores through painting, printmaking, and collagraph techniques. His art has been featured in galleries and exhibitions that highlight cultural narratives and historical depth, and he remains an active presence in the local art community, with work that resonates both locally and beyond.
